For Anthways Journal, I wrote an academic paper exploring correspondence as a method by "which we feel and know that other ways of being are possible" (Nelson, 2022, p. 17). Analysing three literary works which all offer a form of interaction that seems at once unpolished, open-ended, and generously precise - I propose that correspondence can be a method to both uncover, refuse, and care in our ongoing venture, echoing anthropologist David Graeber’s call, to “act as if one is already free” (Graeber, 2007, p. 430).
My paper is featured together with ten other texts, exploring Anthropology in times of change.
