At Bantu Spaceship's residency in Marseille, December 2023, I had the opportunity to observe and capture negotiations and relations unfolding ahead of a major performance in Rennes.
The Zimbabwean band's original members Josh and Ulenni originally came together to do research, but the band is determined to make their music for the people and not for the academy - Bantu Spaceship is steeped in contradictions, indeterminacy and endless possibilities.
