Rori wanted to do the shoot in Harare Gardens, next to the National Gallery in town where he spends a lot of time together with other young creatives. The trees and sky in the park matched with a pair of green pants and a soft white shirt and t-shirt. "I love green, it's a colour that I have noticed I feel comfortable in and around."
"I like movement and motion, scewness and angles which are not straight forward."
" I like chains and I like rings. Rings are the objects that I always carry around - collected and found in different places. It doesn't always have to be too conceptual, but I like contrast, I like space, I like there to be a mood and a tone."
Throughout the shoot, we speak about expressing ones identity and how society's eye on you can be confusing at times. Rori sais "In primary I got bullied because I looked like a girl, and I had to change schools. So I have tried a lot to define my masculinity. But I ignore it and just choose to be myself now. Things should just be."
"I think androgyny is attractive because people sometimes can't really figure out what's going on, and mystery is attractive. But it (fashion) is other times more about expressing ideas than gender and identity."
