As roots of the old trees crawl in under the surface of the march,
the water mirrors the sky and gives it new shape.
Boots sink and stick,
as if the moss held me.
Cold air and warm beams,
cloudberries piercing the landscape.
we, I, exploited extracted used overlooked
still you await
patiently.
Did you know that we have lost 90% of Sweden's wetlands located in plains? Now they are dried out, left continuously leaking carbon dioxide.
The amount of carbon dioxide they emit corresponds to 25% of Sweden's territorial emissions; more than the total of all car transportation in the country.
Wetlands and marshes form the basis for our survival; they provide a buffer for catastrophe and disaster, they promise clean water, are important carbon sinks and home to an abundance of animals and plants. We owe them protection and care.
